About
CalFAS
CalFAS, The California Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Organization was
born from the desire of a group of parents of children with FASD, Fetal
Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome to reach out to their local, state and
national community.
The CalFAS Mission is dedicated to two simple
goals, to prevent FASD and eliminate it for the children of tomorrow and
to intervene and provide assistance to those who are living
with FASD today.
Our primary prevention focus is to reach
out to birth mothers by creating a network that will support mothers in
recovery and assist them in accessing services.
Our primary intervention focus is to network
with all existing federal, state and local service agencies both public
and private to
coordinate and extend existing service delivery systems and more
effectively meet the needs of individuals with FASD and their care providers.
To
achieve this end we are in the process of creating an FASD Task Force in all counties in
California.
We welcome your support and
feedback as
our network continues to grow. Please join us today and help us realize
our mission. We can achieve our goals only with the help of many
concerned individuals, organizations and agencies. No assistance is too small. Together we can make
a difference.
If you'd like to get involved follow the
links to FASDAY and help us prevent "the
invisible disability."
