A Tribute to Carol Echternach

It is with sadness that I share the passing of our former CalFAS Director - Carol Echternach.  She went peacefully in her sleep on July 7, 2006.

Carol was one of our first Directors of CalFAS and shared many talents with us.  She was a passionate advocate with a great understanding of FASD and secondary disabilities.  Her knowledge of Eastern European adoptions and related issues was a passion she spent many hours with.  Carol always had a tender heart for what we were going through and words of encouragement to see us through.  She was a gifted writer and shared many of her experiences with us through her journals.

She blessed her life with her husband Dennis, son Jonathon and three daughters Lana, Mia and Anya, as well as many family and friends.

We've lost a great advocate, a dear friend and a beautiful smile.

- Amber Kesterson, CalFAS President
